Ohio BMV Driver's Permit Practice Test

When approaching a stop sign, the appropriate action is to slow down and prepare to stop. This is critical for ensuring safety at intersections. The stop sign indicates that you must yield to other traffic and pedestrians, and coming to a complete stop allows you to assess the situation at the intersection. By slowing down, you give yourself the opportunity to look for oncoming traffic or pedestrians who may have the right of way, ensuring you make an informed decision about when to proceed.

The requirement to stop is not just a matter of rules; it is a vital safety practice intended to prevent accidents and collisions. When drivers do not slow down or stop, they risk running the stop sign and potentially causing dangerous situations. Understanding and adhering to this rule is essential for all drivers, making option B the correct choice.
